Erbil Shaban
I’m interested in extraordinary stories within ordinary settings, often exploring people at their lowest points. My work focuses on emotional absurdism, using a blend of humour and sincerity to find a perspective in the mess of the everyday. From the dark comedy of Death and Faxes, to the more contemplative drama of Seeing Clearly, I explore ideas that begin in the familiar before revealing something deeper within ourselves.
My films aren’t about telling audiences what to think. They’re stories that feel grounded and simple, but leave you feeling haunted by the end. After years refining the balance between tone and impact, I’ve found where my voice sits.
I’ve produced my own work, building projects from the ground up. Now the focus is on scaling and collaborating with producers whose tastes and ambitions align with our slate of projects. People who care about intention as much as execution.
